Jewel Changi Airport

Architect: Safdie Architects

A groundbreaking fusion of architecture, nature, and leisure, redefining the conventional airport experience. This 10-story complex (comprising five above-ground and five subterranean levels) spans approximately 1.46 million square feet. Its distinctive glass-and-steel dome structure houses attractions that cater to travelers and locals.

At the heart of Jewel lies the HSBC Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, cascading 40 meters through the center of the building. Encircling this is the Shiseido Forest Valley, a lush indoor garden featuring over 2,000 trees and palms, and more than 10,000 shrubs across 21,000 square meters, representing around 120 species from various regions.

The Canopy Park crowns the complex, offering a range of recreational attractions such as the Bouncing Net, Walking Net, Mirror Maze, and Hedge Maze, all set amidst beautifully landscaped gardens.

Beyond its natural and recreational offerings, Jewel integrates over 280 retail and dining outlets, a 130-room hotel, and facilities that support airport operations, including early baggage check-in services.

Jewel Changi Airport stands as a testament to Singapore’s vision of integrating nature with urban spaces, creating a serene oasis that transforms transit into an immersive experience.
