Completed in 1996, the conservatory remains the largest and most northerly facility of its kind in North America. In 2020, the building received the Prix du XXe Siecle Award of Excellence from the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the National Trust for Canada, honoring its enduring excellence in Canadian architecture.
